Please bear with me as I do my best to give you the lastest from my trip to Belgium. Keep in mind that I am primarily here to work and put pretty pictures on the air for the rest of the world. But I am hoping to put some new thoughts and material up each day. Right now I'm about 4 hours away from Brussels, and trying to do a little prep work on the web site so it will be ready for you to read this. If you are reading it and it is past May 1999, in all honesty it means I haven't re-written everything to the past tense. Anyhow, here's the current scoop. The President of the United States (aka POTUS) is going to Brussels and 5 stops in Germany. We were assigned to do this trip on Wednesday afternoon. It is now Saturday night and we already have most of our personel on the ground, not to mention more than 20,000 pounds of television equipment. To give you an idea of the scale of this trip, read up on our African trip. This is only slightly smaller than our African pool. The difference is we had two months to plan Africa; we've had two days to monbilize gear and staff to start scouting sites and setting up gear. After the president is gone and we have all the business taken care of, we will hopefully "drop" for a long weekend in the low countries. I am planning on retracing the footsteps my paternal grandfather took as a soldier in the 104th Infantry Division (The Timberwolves) during World War II.
