Here's some shots from my first bungi jump at Victoria Falls, in Africa. It is billed as the highest commercial bungi in the world (more than 300 feet!). I am planning on doing some jumps soon here in North America, but it is tough finding another jump as high.

I mean, I don't want to do some puny 80 foot jump from a crane at Dinsney World. That would be a big letdown. To me, this jump in Africa was better than sex (maybe I've never had good sex). In any case, eventually I'll be putting a quicktime up of my African jump for your pleasure (or horror...)

The jumpmaster fits me into the dual harnesses (waist and ankle) and briefs me on what to expect.
Despite the briefing, I still don't know what to expect. All there is to do is wait on the bridge while the jumpmaster gets everything ready for me - the first jumper of the day!

I stand at the precipice; the body instinct is to retreat away from the edge. Sooner than I expect, the countdown is done and I force myself to take one more step. Not the most graceful leap of faith, but the plunge through the multiple rainbows was spectacular. That's me 111 meters away at the end of the rope. Below, being winched back up to the bridge. This is called recovery.
